Benzyl benzoate

Benzyl benzoate, colorless oily liquid, melting point 21°C. The boiling point is 324°C. The flash point is 146°C. not soluble in water. Slightly soluble in malonylphthalide. Soluble in oil, ethanol and ether. It has a light aroma similar to almonds and has a spicy taste. It can be obtained by synthesis reaction using sodium benzoate and benzyl chloride as raw materials. It is mainly used as a solvent for artificial musk, vanillin and other fragrances, as a fixative for floral fragrances, and as a blending fragrance for ylang-ylang and other fragrances.
