Physical and chemical properties: colorless oily liquid, combustible, miscible with water. Soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, slightly soluble in ether. The boiling point is 235°C, the melting point is 20.1°C, the flash point (opening) is 21°C, the ignition temperature is 370°C, and the refractive index is 1.446.

Toxicity and protection: Toxic. Chemical industry: BDO is used to produce chemical raw materials such as tetrahydrofuran, PDMEG, UP, GBL, etc.

Medical industry: BDO is the raw material for the production of N-methylpyrrolidone, used in the production of high value-added products in the pharmaceutical industry: vinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylpyrrolidone and other products.

Construction industry: BDO is used as the basic raw material for the production of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) engineering plastics and PBT fibers;

Automobile industry: BDO is used to produce colloidal products such as polyurethane artificial leather. Such products are used to manufacture solid automobile tires and other products.
